Located in the heart of Haberfield Village in Sydney’s Inner West our practice is synonymous with dental care in Haberfield since 1922.

Our surgery includes two treatment rooms, reception and sterilisation room all which offer our patients a comprehensive range of dental treatments from smile enhancements (implants and alignment) to routine family check-ups.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dental Practice Manager with dental nursing experience to join our small dynamic team. This role requires exceptional leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to deliver a first-class patient experience. The successful candidate will have experience in leading the daily operations of a dental practice, possess a solid understanding of dental procedures, and be adaptable to learn new systems.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dental Nurse Experience: Previous experience as a dental nurse is required, with a solid understanding of dental procedures and patient care.
  • Practice Management: Proven experience in a practice management role or similar position within a dental setting.
  • Highly Motivated & Adaptable: Ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and adapt to new systems and technology, including Dental 4 Windows (or similar software).
  • Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Organised & Detail-Oriented: Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Patient-Focused: Passionate about delivering a high level of care and providing an exceptional patient experience.
  • Presentation: Immaculate personal presentation and professionalism at all times.
  • Team-Oriented: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration within the practice.
    This position can be full-time or part-time depending on the successful applicant.
    Working hours are from 8.30am - 5.30pm, however these hours may vary, so flexibility is paramount.

Responsibilities
  • Practice Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the dental practice, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Patient Liaison: Provide exceptional patient service, addressing patient concerns and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and support a small team of dental nurses. Foster a positive and collaborative working environment. Communication is key.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist with budgeting, financial management, and maintaining records of accounts. Ensure the practice operates within budgetary constraints.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Oversee the scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time and minimising patient wait times.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee and manage the dental practice’s inventory, including dental supplies and equipment. Ensure that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels without overstocking.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Ensure the practice complies with all relevant dental regulations, health and safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
  • Dental Nurse Support: Provide dental nursing assistance when necessary, supporting the team in clinical duties as required.
  • Training & Development: Continually assess staff performance together with Principal Dentist and ensure training needs are met to improve service delivery and maintain high standards of care.
  • Patient Experience: Enhance the overall patient experience, ensuring comfort, professionalism, and timely service.
  • Patient Recall: Regeneration management and managing re-booking of existing patients to upkeep six monthly dental appointments.
  • External Suppliers: Liaising with external laboratories for patient appliances / lab work.
