Job Summary: As a Dental Receptionist at our office, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, creating a positive and friendly atmosphere in our reception area. You will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth patient experience by handling various administrative tasks and providing exceptional customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as a dental receptionist in a Canadian Dental Setting or in a similar role is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using dental practice management software (Open Dental) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities

Greet and Welcome Patients: Warmly welcome patients as they arrive at the practice, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
Appointment Scheduling: Efficiently manage the appointment schedule, including scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming appointments via phone, email or text when required.
Patient Registration: Collect and update patient information, insurance details, and medical history accurately in our electronic health records system.
Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, process insurance claims, estimates, and provide cost estimates to patients when needed.
Billing and Payments: Process payments, issue receipts, and assist patients with financial inquiries and payment plans.
Answer Inquiries: Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, text, or in person, providing information about our services, fees, and procedures.
Maintain a Clean and Organized Reception Area: Keep the reception area tidy and well-organized to create a welcoming environment.
Coordinate with the Dental Team: Communicate effectively with the dental team to ensure a seamless patient flow and assist with any patient-related issues.
Patient Records: Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient records and files.
