Hours: 08:30am to 18:00 with 1 hour lunch daily.
Predominantly Monday-Friday but with the requirement of working a Saturday when needed

A dental receptionist’s primary role is to support patients and provide assistance when necessary. They are often the first person a patient sees when they arrive at the dentist’s office and the last person a patient sees as they make their payment and leave. Strong customer service skills ensure the dental receptionist is in-tune to patients’ needs, manages patient issues and needs effectively and leaves patients with a positive impression.

  • Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice.
  • Scheduling, rescheduling, or cancelling appointments as needed.
  • Assisting patients to fill out information forms.
  • Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders.
  • Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments.
  • Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.
  • Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing

· Manage and organize specialist referrals

  • Keep track of office supplies and place orders for more supplies when necessary
  • Perform basic accounting tasks such as taking patient payments and preparing billing statements
  • Update patient insurance information
  • Ensure all dental office equipment is functioning properly
  • Sort and organize incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintain petty cash available in the dental office
  • Ensure reception area is maintained and professional in appearance
