Jobs Description: Dental therapists provide care directly to patients so they should have good customer service and communication skills in order to interact effectively with their patients. Communication skills are vital since these therapists need to collaborate and exchange information with dentists and other dental professionals. Strong decision-making skills are also important as the Dental Therapist are a representative of the company. Roles and Responsibilities: Promoting general dental health, carrying out routine treatments that has been prescribed by a registered dentist. These treatments could include simple fillings, applying fluoride, and taking x-rays. Job Skills: Great and clear communication skills Customer service experience Interpersonal abilities Decision-making skills Attention to detail Qualifications: Advanced degree from an accredited University in Dental Therapy. Must have a current Minnesota License granted by the Board of Dentistry. Provides direct care to high risk patients, carries out education, instruction and assists health providers with Dental procedures consistent with protocols and guidelines. Ability to fulfill the requirements of travel between facilities. Knowledge of dental disease processes. Demonstrated clinical competence. Work efficiently under limited supervision. Possess the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively in all situations. Excellent listening, oral and written English skills in communication with patients, families, health professionals. Cultural sensitivity and tolerance with respect to working with persons and groups of diverse racial, ethnic, economic and social backgrounds.
