Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.   Position Summary The Dentist is responsible for providing general dentistry care to patients of Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. in a courteous and professional manner. The Dentist provides comprehensive oral health services including: examinations, treatment planning, patient education, referrals, follow-up visits. The Dentist I serves as the leader in the dental practice and works collaboratively with the care team to ensure that all patient receive the best possible care.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Supervise the Dental care team in providing patients with primary medical services within the standard of care for Dental Services * Participate in daily care team huddles to ensure prioritization of patient needs.  * Educate patients on oral health care by examining teeth and diagnosing dental conditions, using tools such as X-rays. * Assess treatment options and confirm treatment plans with patients * Carry out clinical treatments, such as treating gum disease, restoring teeth affected by decay, and other services as needed.  * Maintain patients' dental records;  * Completes continuing education courses as required by state licensing standards.  * Compliance with Productivity and Documentation Standards:  1. Ensure productivity standards are met.  2. Complete all documentation and coding as required for patient care and UDS data collection purposes.  3. Ensure documentation is recorded in a complete, timely and orderly manner, utilizing template in the electronic medical record.  * Adhere to UDS productivity and quality standards and meets minimum requirements. * Perform comprehensive examinations, including physical, developmental assessment and screening for psychosocial problems. * Perform other related duties as assigned by management.    Qualifications * A Doctor of Dental Medicine or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from an accredited university * An active dental license in the state of South Carolina  * Current CPR certificate required
