The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below: Provide comprehensive general dentistry to eligible Veterans through a VA mobile dental clinic based in White River Junction, Vermont. Ensure compliant documentation in VA Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Dental Record (EDR) systems; maintain infection control and privacy standards; supervise the dental team; and participate in VA quality programs including Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE). B. Key Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning; discuss plans using Veteran‑centric communication. • Deliver progressive, phased dental care within licensure/training, including restorative (including dental implants), preventive, oral surgery, endodontic, prosthodontic, and periodontic procedures; stabilize acute issues; manage post‑operative care and follow‑up. • Collaborate with VA dental/medical staff for care not feasible in the mobile setting. • Supervise Registered Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants per state dental board regulations; assign duties; ensure medically necessary care within eligibility and standard practice. • Verify dental eligibility and render Class III and Class VI determinations pursuant to 38 U.S.C. §§ 1710(c) and 1712. • Operate the mobile dental clinic; assist with setup/breakdown and operatory preparation; maintain inventory; park/store the unit at White River Junction when not deployed; lock the unattended unit; comply with all vehicle traffic laws; immediately notify the designated point of contact (POC) regarding issues. • Coordinate sterile processing with Sterile Processing Service (SPS); maintain and clean equipment; comply with VA Office of Dentistry Infection Control Standards and applicable Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Joint Commission requirements; manage waste/sharps/biohazards. • Operate dental X‑ray equipment, evaluate image quality, apply imaging safety techniques, and securely upload images to the Veteran’s EDR. • Use VA EHR and EDR for all documentation; ensure confidentiality under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and VA privacy requirements; do not release records—refer requests to VA Release of Information. • Follow established medication policies; no sample medications shall be provided to patients. • Participate in peer reviews and meetings; ensure compliance with VHA, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards; report trends/issues arising from mobile unit operations; ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) align with national policy. • Attend VA‑required training and certification programs; complete periodic refresher courses and policy updates within specified timelines. • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies. Location: 163 Veterans Drive, White River Junction, Vermont 05001; mobile deployment to surrounding areas within Vermont Facility: White River Junction VA Medical Center Qualifications Basic Requirements/Certifications: • Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Vermont. • Must possess recent experience as a full-time practicing clinical dentist serving a diverse adult patient population. • National Provider Identifier (NPI) is required (with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) confirmation notice, as applicable). • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an AHA program. Education Required Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. • Successful completion of the National Board of Dental Examinations (NBDE) developed and administered by the Joint Commission a National Dental Examinations (JCNDE). Physical Requirements: • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs. Other Special Qualifications: • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
