Description Reporting to the Dental Clinical Director, the Dentist primary responsibility is to provide patients with general dentistry services. The Dentist will diagnose, treat, and prevent oral diseases and conditions, as well as assess, educate and inform patients of preventative & restorative dental care. The following statements for this position reflect only some specific responsibilities and are considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all duties required that may be inherent in the position: Conduct thorough examinations of patients’ teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues to identify disease, injury, and decay. Analyze and review x-rays and other diagnostic tools with patients, explaining findings clearly and recommending appropriate treatment plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and other preventive measures to promote overall dental health. Prescribe medications, such as antibiotics or analgesics, to treat infections, manage pain, or address viral, bacterial, and fungal conditions. Provide general dentistry services, including diagnosis, treatment, restorative care, and cosmetic procedures. Perform a wide range of dental procedures, such as fillings, extractions, crowns, root canals, and other specialized treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Maintain comprehensive and impeccable documentation of all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care in patient records. Review patient charts daily to ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and quality of care provided. Responsible for the quality and completeness of patient exams, ensuring all clinical evaluations meet the highest standards. Maintain a consistent and productive work schedule, balancing efficiency with the highest standards of patient care. Maintain productivity benchmarks while ensuring that all care provided meets or exceeds community standards. Inform the Dental Director of laboratory issues, clinical challenges, and other operational concerns that may arise. Comply with all safety, emergency, hazard, OSHA, sterilization, clinical, quality assurance, and administrative protocols, guidelines, and standards. Provide follow-up care for patients who have undergone extensive treatment, ensuring proper recovery and addressing any concerns. Lead and guide the day-to-day operations of the dental team, including overseeing staff profiles and ensuring effective team performance. Serve as the highest operations lead in the day-to-day functioning of the dental clinic, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any immediate issues. Supervise and mentor dental staff, including dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative personnel, ensuring adherence to clinical and operational standards. Review and interpret month-end management reports to monitor and improve clinic performance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Offer corrective action, coaching, and strategic direction to team members as necessary to maintain high-quality care and operational efficiency. Develop and execute strategic direction for the dental clinic, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community standards. Build and maintain patient confidence through effective communication, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Assist in the delivery of after-hours emergency services and coordinate coverage as needed to ensure continuous patient care. Will cultivate teamwork, unity, harmony, goodwill and work closely with all members of the employees, staff, executive director, and administration. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws to protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all communications. Perform other duties as assigned by the executive leadership and administration. Requirements Graduated from accredited dental school receiving a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) Dental license issued by California Board of Dental Examiners Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a DDS or a DMD Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
