Overview The Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking a Department Administrator II. The position involves planning, monitoring, and directing all aspects of departmental services and operations, with a strong emphasis on financial oversight and management. The role includes project planning and implementation to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities Provides direct supervision over department Office/department Managers, Administrative Support Coordinator. Provides indirect supervision over various nursing and clinical staff. Monitors daily operation of all facilities to maintain an optimum work environment resulting in positive customer service and patient care. Provides support and assistance to the Chairman. Maintains effective departmental leadership with efficient utilization of time and resources. Develops a 3-year operations plan including annual goals and expectations for the staff. Develops and monitors standards of the departments, operations, and care delivery. Provides shared responsibility with department Chairman in developing budget recommendations, monitoring expenses, and approval of budget. Reviews and analyzes financials to maintain a positive budget and financially strong department. Plans and develops budget and strategic and tactical plans. Provides support to Academic Manager and Program Director when needed. Provides oversight for clinical operations by monitoring care delivery system and development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure patient-centered care. Monitors compliance with government policies. Provides guidance and assistance to faculty and service providers to maintain a strong, patient-centered environment. Performs other required duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 8 years of progressively more responsible positions with experience including budgets, accounting, and administration preferably in a healthcare/college environment. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Location : Location US-VA-Norfolk
