We have an opportunity for an entrepreneurial Professional Engineer to lead a group of municipal engineers across our offices, and to work toward the expansion of both services and staffing. This position could be based out of almost any office if the candidate is able to commute to the various offices, as needed. The key responsibilities of a Department Head span from technical to managerial to strategic, and include but not limited to the following: Staffing - Work (with the team) to coordinate work within the department and with other departments on multi-discipline projects. Play a key role in recruiting and developing team members, provide performance feedback and evaluate compensation adjustments and bonuses. Project management – Prepare project proposals, authorization for services, budgets, reports, and invoices. Is responsible for reporting on the profit/loss, financial performance of department. Technical oversight – develop/implement standards and assure accuracy of work via an established QA/QC process. May research, assist in, or make recommendations on the purchasing of software or other items needed by the department. Client management and attendance at meetings. Work closely with the executive team to set goals and business objectives for the department (staffing, growth, performance marks, etc.) Participate in business development efforts and work with the marketing team to achieve results/goals. Actively participate in management meeting and leadership development meetings and leadership development programs, as requested. Requirements B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field Registered Professional Engineer in PA. Valid driver's license - for travel to client sites/meetings Prior land development experience Prior municipal engineering experience preferred Ability to attend evening meetings Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills Prior project and client management experience Strong interpersonal and (written and verbal) communication skills. Competency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. Ability to obtain clearances (for PA Act 34, 114, and 151) as we often work at school sites in PA.
