You’ll coordinate project delivery across the region, build strong and capable teams, and maintain trusted relationships with clients and partners, helping us deliver safe, high‑quality work, positive customer experiences, and strong outcomes for our people and communities. Mō te tūranga | About the role As a Department Manager, this is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing construction delivery across the region. You’ll work across a mixed environment, spending time on site, collaborating in the office, and supporting teams across multiple projects and locations. The role brings people, plant, and planning together to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Through your leadership, you’ll support our teams, strengthen relationships with customers, and help deliver infrastructure that communities rely on every day. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Lead construction teams across multiple projects, setting clear direction and supporting safe, high‑quality delivery on site and in the office. Coordinate people, plant, and resources to ensure work is well planned, efficiently scheduled, and delivered to programme. Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams through clear communication and regular engagement. Support the development and performance of your team through coaching, feedback, and active leadership presence. Oversee contract, safety, quality, and environmental requirements to ensure projects meet Fulton Hogan standards and expectations. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with A relevant qualification such as BE, NZCE, or equivalent, or significant practical experience in construction leadership roles. Proven experience leading construction teams and overseeing multi‑site project delivery in a civil or infrastructure environment. Strong working knowledge of pavement or civil construction, including planning, sequencing, and on‑site delivery. Demonstrated experience managing people performance and development, including coaching, feedback, and formal reviews. A solid understanding of health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements in a construction setting. Confidence managing client and stakeholder relationships and representing the business professionally. A current full driver licence, with the ability to travel across the region as required.
