So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed? - Carries out policy of courtesy and service, recognizing the importance of genuine, obvious, and active attention required in a retail organization. - Controls scheduling to ensure staffing levels and payroll expenditures are appropriate to current business conditions. - Supervises, trains, and motivates assigned sales associates. Ensures subordinate associates are aware of sales goals, sales events sales incentive programs, store policies etc. - Actively seeks to become knowledgeable concerning store policies and services offered in order to effectively carry out the requirements of this position. - Performs independently under the direction of a Store Divisional Manager or Store Manager. Work is reviewed in terms of achievement of operational goals and objectives. The Qualifiers: · 3 Years’ experience which was gained in administrative, clerical, retail sales, or other related work which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of selling, floor operation practices, and procedures skills in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships, and the ability to exercise mature judgment. · Must pass an employment criminal background check. · 1 year progressive experience which provided background in merchandise controls, inventory stock, record keeping, and reports. Exempt or non-exempt supervisory experience, merchandise display, and retail promotions. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience per year.
