Department Managers are responsible for the sales results and daily management of their area. This includes executing marketing campaigns, managing inventory, and participating in meetings in addition to the duties of a sales associate. This position is for our Kent store.

  • Responsible for managing and supervising freight team, assigning tasks and maintaining safety standards.
  • Providing all the important training to the team members.
  • Verifying the delivery documents against actual shipment and inspecting any damages.
  • Communicating and coordinating with other departments regarding products put away.
  • Ensuring stock is consistently replenished and store is always presentable.
  • Plan, direct and evaluate the operations of establishments engaged in wholesale and retail sales or of departments in such establishments.
  • Manage staff and assign duties.
  • Address staffing requirements, including the hiring, development and retention of staff.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivate others through their positive attitude to always be improving
  • Demonstrate the drive and commitment needed to reach goals
  • Experience in retail sales and supervision is preferred
  • A knowledge of department products is an asset
  • Typical career steps are to manage larger departments prior to becoming an assistant store manager
