OVERVIEW ::

The Department Manager Trainee position will be a salaried role that prepares the holder for a supervisory position within Operations or Live Production areas of the complex.

REQUIREMENTS ::

• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of poultry operations or transferable skill-sets from other fields.
• Ability to work with computers, as well as office programs.
• Leadership ability, community-mindedness, ability to work in team environments.
• Ability to learn using hands-on experiences as well as mentoring.
• Management prefers an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree desirable) from an accredited institution in Business Management, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or other related fields.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ::

• When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

• May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

• Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::

• Familiarizing self with the different aspects of the operation over the course of a given time in preparation for a permanent job assignment.
• Analyze, evaluate, and report on the different areas of operation assigned during the training process.
• Assuming responsibilities over assigned work areas under the leadership and guidance of the mentor.
• Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives.
