Description

Duration: 6 months Starting date: September 2026 Location: Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea Remuneration: US$ 1,600/month Introduction The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people. Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 355 projects and has committed USD 20.3 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts. The GCF’s diverse workforce is advancing its mission from its headquarters in South Korea. Internship Assignment The Intern will provide analytical and operational support to the Learning workstream in the Department of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (DMEL). S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in relation to, to information pieces on impact of GCF funding, knowledge product development, visual knowledge product development, knowledge partnerships, providing support to the team in preparing for internal and external engagements, presentations, and research and drafting of various assignments for the team, support to the climate impact network, and other priorities of DMEL. Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within DMEL, the Intern is expected to: * Supporting the team with external partners engagements, and high-level speakers' series, including the writing of brief notes, PPTs, memos, minutes as well as preparing of other supporting material and providing logistical support; * Support the establishment of systematic learning loops, systems, and methodologies/ * Supporting the team with content development. This would also include benchmarking exercises, surveys, multimedia and visual knowledge products; * Providing support to internal communities of practice (CoPs) led by the team through analysis, note taking, and follow ups; * Coordinate various internal collaborative initiatives; * The curation of an online network of resources, coordinated by the Climate Science Lead * Supporting other strategic and corporate priorities of the Department. Requirements and qualifications * Enrolled in Master’s program in International Relations, Social Sciences, Law, Finance, Economics, Science or related fields; * Knowledge and experience in analysing complex problems, data and processes; and coordinating collaboration between multiple stakeholders; * Ability to multitask and deliver within tight timelines, while demonstrating attention to detail; * Excellent drafting, presentation and communication skills; * Good understanding and experience in climate change, climate finance and/or designing and implementing projects in developing countries is an added advantage; * Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Asana or other project management software; * Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
