ABOUT US
The Department of Neuromuscular Diseases is a hub for clinical and research excellence across the spectrum of spinal cord and neuromuscular diseases. Our group of world-leading clinical, genetic and basic science researchers focus their work on understanding the causes and biological mechanisms leading to Neuromuscular Disease and translating this knowledge into developing novel therapeutic solutions that is of direct benefit to neurological disorders such as motor neurone disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and neuromuscular disease.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Departmental Administrative Assistant works closely with the Departmental Administrator and departmental staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
A key point of contact for the department’s researchers, this is a varied and interesting role that offers the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of activities, including organising departmental meetings and events, maintaining research and publication records, supporting HR-related administration, and providing a proactive and flexible administrative support function for departmental colleagues. This role also offers the opportunity to learn about research funding through the provision of an effective financial administration service, supporting the Departmental Administrator in preparing research costings and budget projections, and assisting research groups with purchasing and ordering.
The post is offered part-time at 21.9 hours per week (0.60 Full Time Equivalent). This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% of time on site.
