KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Sound knowledge of clerical and record keeping methods and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the work performed.
- Sound knowledge and practices of various computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of RCMP systems such as PRIME is an asset.
- Ability to type at least 50 wpm.
- Ability to exercise independence of judgment and action in determining priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to remain professional and composed with difficult clients over the telephone.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work.
- Ability to maintain concentration despite the noise and distractions of a large, open office.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and to deal effectively with internal contacts in matters applicable to the work.
- Complete proficiency in English and sound knowledge of spelling and grammar and the ability to format standard business letters.
- Ability to use REDMS or a similar records management system.
- Ability to obtain and maintain RCMP enhanced security clearance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by computer courses and typing, plus up to 1 year sound related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
