Description

ABOUT MEGAPORT

We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 350 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a Deployment Engineer, you are passionate about using technology to scale and strengthen a global network. You bring a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure fast, precise deployment of networking hardware. With excellent troubleshooting skills and a naturally curious mindset, you approach technical challenges methodically—digging deep to find root causes and applying your knowledge to deliver practical, lasting solutions. You’re analytical by nature, turning data into insights and trends into action. In a highly collaborative, global environment, you communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders to resolve complex deployment and network issues with efficiency and accuracy.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Design, analyse, test, and complete the setup of new sites globally
  • Create technical input for site deployments and upgrades, including hardware and specific configuration requirements to suit the varying needs of the stakeholders
  • Consult with stakeholders to determine system functional specifications and provide recommendations
  • Develop technical documentation for testing and installation of hardware
  • Lead configuration of enterprise switching gear (Cisco, Juniper), ready via remote secure methods
  • Design, implement and test Cloud On-ramp connections with Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Oracle)
  • Advise and collaborate with a variety of global suppliers including data centres and carriers on deploying these new sites and develop strategies for anticipating, preparing for, and addressing any challenges that may arise
  • Design, implement and test global circuits
  • Design and build in-house prototypes for testing and to use to further educate stakeholders
  • Lead team to ensure that deployment and migration plans stay on track
