Description This position provides timely and accurate deposit process and procedural support, with a friendly and positive attitude, to internal and external customers both verbally and in writing. The Deposit Services Specialist is responsible for death claims, retirement account processing, account research, quality assurance, legal account processing, verifications of deposit, handling daily mail requests, and servicing employee accounts. Serves as a primary backup for one or more key department functions. Major Duties and Responsibilities Receive and respond to member and associate requests to resolve deposit account questions and issues in a timely and effective manner Perform various account maintenance functions via mail and email, including updating member contact information Complete sample auditing on account maintenance and activity, report findings and corrections with management and associates Process death claims and work directly with survivors of accounts with deceased owners Review and support retirement account processing, including RMDs and verification of forms Monitor and complete quality assurance reports Perform account research and fulfill verification of deposit requests Process levies, garnishments, subpoenas and search warrants/summons within required timeframes Review business documents to determine eligibility is met for account opening Assist associates with problem research and resolution, communicating in a professional manner with a clear emphasis on providing quality support Open new employee accounts, perform account maintenance, and service employee accounts Provide support with Safe Deposit Boxes, including routine audits Identify inefficiencies to improve operations Manage complex or difficult member situations and respond effectively under pressure Remain current in on all core system enhancements and attends training as required Perform other department duties as assigned including, but not limited to, training, procedure review/revision and audit documentation gathering Other Duties Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control Regular and predictable attendance Exhibit Blaze’s Core Value’s: Better Lives, Thoughtfully Compassionate, Minnesota’s Best, and Give Back Perform other duties as assigned to support effective department operation Requirements Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses High School degree or equivalent Minimum 1-2 years of similar or related experience Financial industry experience desired Demonstrated Knowledge Microsoft Office Ability to: Have strong detail orientation and organizational skills Perform complex mathematical calculations Understand banking computer systems Problem solve Multitask and manage conflicting priorities Be flexible to meet changing needs of the organization Communication Skills Excellent communication skills (written and/or oral); courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job; ability to proactively respond to members/staff to problem solve based on guidelines; written communications are based on templates but can be modified Physical Requirements Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate a computer; interact with internal staff and members on the phone; travel to designated offices and lift up to 20 lbs. *Weekly schedule will include a Saturday rotation Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere, and we encourage diverse applicant depth and breadth. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations. The salary range for this position is: $25.20-$29.50. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
