DEPOT MANAGER OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a proactive, experienced Depot Manager to lead the operations of a busy and fast paced depot. This is a hands on leadership role, responsible for driving performance, ensuring smooth day to day operations, and delivering excellent service to customers.
The successful candidate will play a key part in growing the business, managing a dedicated team, and maintaining high standards across service delivery, health and safety, logistics, and customer satisfaction.

DEPOT MANAGER SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of team management in an operational environment
  • Excellent communication skills with a confident, professional approach
  • High level of IT literacy, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and react quickly to changing demands
  • Commercially minded, with a focus on both sales and service excellence
  • Experience in a depot, logistics, or service centre environment preferred
  • A hands on manager who leads by example and fosters a positive team spirit
  • Clear understanding of health and safety procedures and compliance responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Drive depot and national sales growth while maintaining first class customer service
  • Lead all aspects of depot operations, ensuring efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
  • Respond to sales enquiries, provide accurate quotations, and manage order processing
  • Schedule deliveries and installations in line with customer requirements
  • Ensure accurate data entry into internal systems
  • Liaise with warehouse and transport teams to guarantee timely dispatch of goods
  • Implement and monitor process improvements to enhance overall service delivery
  • Oversee all health and safety documentation, checks, and procedures
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality across the depot
  • Manage, support, and develop team members, including training, performance monitoring, and disciplinary processes
  • Promote effective communication across departments and provide regular performance updates to Directors
  • Support marketing initiatives and ensure client facing materials are well presented
  • Provide out of hours customer support and participate in ad hoc projects when required
