A little bit about Imbue…
Our innovative approach to engaging and inspiring SEND children and young people in Derby through our immersive learning hub is one of the most exciting educational concepts in the UK. Our hub sees students learning through their love of ‘all things tech’, including gaming, programming, coding and our immersive digital physical equipment.

WHO WE ARE:

We work with, and for, individuals between the ages of 8-18 years, we cater for all abilities and capabilities. We teach skills such as practical-based technical repairs, interactive programming/coding and game/3D design, via our ‘Game Education’ approach.
Our main focus is on individuals with special needs, delivering specific programmes and activities to target people with a range of abilities. We provide regular workshops, one to one training and practical experience. We also provide work experience opportunities and support individuals to move into employment and education.
We provide an inclusive centre for short breaks, home education, after school clubs, and aim to create a space for building social skills through community. We hope to deliver entry level understanding in programming, Graphic Design, 3D design, IT Repair and Maintenance, whilst providing a space for Community, Inclusion and Education.

Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

The Deputy Assistant Manager will oversee day-to-day operations at our centre, ensuring it is a welcoming, safe, and fully inclusive environment. You will manage staff and volunteers, coordinate activities, and ensure that all participants, regardless of background, ability, or circumstance can fully access our programmes and Learning Hub.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Management

  • Aiding the operational management of the Derby centre.
  • Line-manage a small team of staff, mentors, and volunteers.
  • Set high standards of inclusion, safeguarding, and service quality.

Programme & Service Delivery

  • Oversee the scheduling and delivery of mentoring, training, and workshops.
  • Ensure all services are accessible to people with additional needs, language barriers, or additional support needs.
  • Monitor participant progress and adapt support where necessary.

Inclusion & Accessibility

  • Embed inclusive practices across all centre activities.
  • Work with the Learning Hub team to ensure technology is accessible and user-friendly.
  • Develop strategies to engage underrepresented groups in the local community.

Partnerships & Community Engagement

  • Build relationships with local organisations, employers, and community groups.
  • Promote the centre as a hub for inclusion and innovation.
  • Represent Imbue Ventures at local events and forums.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Collect data on participation, engagement, and outcomes.
  • Report on impact, highlighting successes and identifying areas for improvement.
