THE ROLE:
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Deputy Business Service Manager to join our team. This role is perfect for someone ready to take the next step in their career and gain valuable experience in a leadership position. As a Deputy Business Service Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Service Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our accommodation services. You will play a key role in providing support and guidance to both staff and residents, helping to create a safe and positive environment.

Helping them to overcome any difficulties or disadvantages they may face, allowing them to strengthen their future. You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of support. They may also require your guidance within education, training, and employment.
Within this emerging leadership role, you will not only ensure the welfare and support of each child but also give guidance and support to all key workers. You will be committed to making a difference, which includes being responsible for staff supervision, leading shifts by role moulding, ensuring placement plans are followed, implementing policies, procedures, and risk assessments, creating rotas, and making sure that the business needs are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Accommodation Management and Support: Based within one of the supported accommodation homes and head office to oversee daily operations and ensure high standards of care, support, and safety.
· Staff Leadership and Supervision: Provide direct leadership, support, and supervision to staff, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. Role model best practices and assist with task administration, ensuring that staff follow placement plans and manage risks effectively.
· Compliance and Policy Implementation: Assist the Registered Service Manager (RSM) in the day-to-day management of the accommodation, including implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and care plans. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding standards, and OFSTED care standards.
· Resident Development and Progress Tracking: Support staff and enable them to assist resident development, focusing on progress toward independence and life skills. Monitor and support young people’s progress to help them achieve their individual goals.
· Cloud-based System Management: Review and oversee cloud-based information systems to review daily logs, compliance records, and statutory documentation.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Actively participate in meetings with stakeholders, including children’s services and YOT, to align on care strategies and address any concerns or updates.
· Point of Contact: Serve as a primary contact for both staff and residents, providing guidance, addressing concerns, and offering support as needed.
· On-Call Support: Participate in on-call duties to provide guidance and support to staff outside of regular working hours as required (very rare).
· Training and Development: Support the RSM in interviewing, onboarding, and training new staff. Lead training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and service quality.
· Shift Management and Coverage: Lead and manage staff shifts to ensure consistent, high-quality service. Provide coverage in the manager’s absence to maintain smooth operations.
