South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.
We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex. We have 414 beds. Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.
Opened in 2018, Blatchington Manor is a purpose-built specialist dementia care home in Seaford, East Sussex. The Home has been sympathetically designed to offer high quality, dedicated specialised care, devoted to residents who are living with memory loss, including Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Home Manager; this role involves overseeing the care team carrying out planned, proactive and reactive duties. The team is committed to providing professional, respectful and quality care within a safe home environment
This is a hands-on role and appropriate experience and relevant qualifications will be of paramount importance as is the commitment to provide a first-class service to all of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting in the daily management and coordination of resident care to include assessments, audits, and person-centred care.
  • Ensure the documentation of all residents is in accordance with their care needs and reflective of events that have occurred including the updating of care plans, risk assessment, and daily records.
  • Manage medication ordering, delivery and organisation within the home. Ensure the safe administration of medication to residents through correct paperwork and documentation.
  • Recognise skill gaps and areas for development in care teams. Support those requiring further knowledge and refer to training department as required
  • Assist in the management of HR matters for staff and colleagues within the home, including interviewing, appraisals, grievances, probationary periods, and reflections
  • Facilitate regular meetings with residents and families to enhance the teams’ ability to provide care that is truly reflective of the people living within the home.
  • Alternate week and weekend on-call is required.
