We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Children’s Care Manager to join our team. If you have experience in childcare, leadership, and are looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you.
We are opening a brand-new children’s home in Hitchin, dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people. Our mission is to empower them to achieve their full potential while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of our children’s home. You will lead and supervise a team of care professionals, ensuring they deliver high-quality care and support.
  • Safeguarding and Care: Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children and young people. Develop individual care plans tailored to the specific needs of each child whilst ensuring the home operate in line with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding policies.
  • Compliance and Administration: Assist with audits, reporting, and maintaining accurate records. Support with policy development ensuring all staff are familiar with and adhere to our policies and procedures. Participate in inspections and take action on recommendations to improve standards.
  • Team Development: Provide training, mentoring, and support to the care team. Conduct regular team meetings and individual supervision sessions. Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-quality staff.
  • Operational Support: Act as the lead in the absence of the Registered Manager. Participate in an on-call rota to provide support for emergencies or out-of-hours issues. Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and professionals.
  • Celebrate Success: Recognise and share achievements within the team.
