Description
Major Activities Assist the Chief Internal Audit in developing and executing the annual risk-based internal audit plan. Provide leadership and direction to audit managers and teams, ensuring alignment with Internal Audit goals and objectives. Contribute to the preparation of the annual audit plan, ensuring coverage of key risks areas. Supervise complex audits, investigations, and special assignments, ensuring timely and effective delivery. Review audit findings and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen governance, risk management, and controls. Oversee assessments of AML/CFT/Sanctions controls, customer due diligence, and transaction monitoring. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and validate remedial actions. Manage resource allocation, performance monitoring, and staff development within the audit function. Oversee preparation and validation of MIS reports for the Audit Committee and Board. Assist the Chief Internal Audit in preparation of reports and documents for presentation to the board audit committee. Ensure effective oversight of operational areas such as procurement expenses, vault operations, and reporting obligations. Maintain strong working relationships with external auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders. Mentor and train audit staff, fostering professional growth and succession readiness. Stay abreast of emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes. Encourage innovation in audit methodologies, leveraging technology and best practices. Any other assignment as given by the line manager. Requirements Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Islamic Banking, or a related discipline. Professional certification such as CIA, CISA, CFE or ACCA with demonstrated commitment to IPPF standards. Strong expertise in banking operations, auditing methodologies, and applicable banking laws and regulations. Experience: Minimum of 4 years in internal audit managerial roles, or more than 6 years in managerial positions within risk management or compliance department. Skills & Competencies: Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. High ethical standards, integrity, and sound judgment. Proficiency in audit tools, with strong reporting and drafting skills.
