Organizational Context and Scope Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM), and in close coordination with relevant Departments in Headquarters (HQ), the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCoM) will support the CoM in their responsibility to ensure coherence between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Project and Development Support Unit (PDSU), while also managing early recovery, durable solutions and development programming for the Libya Country Office (CO). Furthermore, the DCoM will supervise the Heads of Sub-Office(s) and will oversee programming for a wide range of programmes and projects being implemented in Libya in close coordination with relevant Regional Thematic Specialists (RTS) and Regional Resource Management Unit (RRMU). The DCoM will ensure that implementation of IOM programmes is done in an effective and efficient manner consistent with IOM Libya CO’s overall strategy and in line with the expectations of the IOM’s Donors and beneficiaries, while working with the authorities.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Chief of Mission supports the Chief of Mission in ensuring coherence between the Project and Development Support Unit while managing early recovery and durable solutions programming in Libya. The role involves supervising Sub-Office Heads and overseeing a wide range of projects in coordination with regional specialists and authorities.
