The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, experienced hospital pharmacist with good clinical skills and managerial skills with a working knowledge of the medicines optimisation agenda.
The postholder will lead on patient safety and clinical governance initiatives relating to medicines management, including EPMA and Controlled Drugs, across the Trust.
The postholder will lead on the review and evaluation of clinical risk and critical incidents, including trends, relating to medicines use within the Trust. The postholder will be responsible for dissemination of learning relating to risks, including risk prevention.
The post holder will contribute to the production of departmental and Trust policies, guidelines, standard operating procedures, reports, updates and bulletins, relating to patient safety and clinical governance, as appropriate.
The postholder will be a member of a number of groups and committees concerned with patient safety, medication safety and clinical governance within NMUHT and also across the ICS.
The post holder will be the responsible pharmacist and professional lead for the dispensary and ensure all dispensary activities are carried out to recognised acceptable standards. The post holder will lead, deliver, develop and evaluate pharmacy dispensary services provision to the Trust and provide professional leadership to the dispensary-based pharmacists. The post holder will hold overall responsibility for setting and maintaining clinical standards of inpatient and outpatient dispensary services.
North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system – consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS’s, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.
