LOCATION: RESIDENTIAL CHILDREN’S HOME WITHIN THE CITY OF DERBY

An exciting opportunity has arisen, and this could be the job that you have been looking for. We are seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and passionate Deputy Children’s Home Manager who can support our Children Home’s Manager to deliver the very best support and outcomes to children and young people.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working as a Deputy Homes Manager, working with young people who may have challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties as well as children and young people who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum and / or learning disabilities. There may be up to five young people, aged between 5 and 18 years of age and mixed gender living at the home who are unable for a variety of reasons to live with their families.
You will need to be a highly motivated individual who can support a staff team to deliver the best possible care, whilst creating a safe and nurturing environment to our children and young people. We want someone who is committed to making a difference and has the relevant experience to support young people and children reach their potential. You will have had experience of managing, motivating and empowering residential staff to deliver the best possible care, whilst creating a positive environment.
You will work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure that the Home exceeds standards in relation to Ofsted requirements.
Our Residential Home provides long term care for children and young people aged 5 – 17yrs with Autism and / or Learning Disabilities.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have previous leadership experience in a Children’s home supporting with Autism and/ or Learning Disabilities
  • Have had responsibility for areas of development, performance and standards and in developing a team
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations including Quality Standards 2015
  • Understands the physical, emotional and social needs of young people and their development
  • Understanding of strengths-based approach
  • Have a good understanding of attachment theory and trauma
  • Experience in providing reflective supervision Residential Child Care Workers.
  • Are qualified as a minimum to Level 3 Diploma for Residential Child Care (or equivalent), or higher
  • Hold a full UK driving license
