Robin Hood Golf Club is a prestigious members golf club in Solihull with a proud history and reputation for delivering high-quality playing surfaces all year round. We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Deputy Course Manager to support the Course Manager in leading the greenkeeping team and maintaining the golf course to the highest possible standard.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience as a Senior Greenkeeper or Deputy Course Manager.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Sports Turf Management.
  • Strong knowledge of turf management, machinery, and irrigation systems.
  • Leadership qualities with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends when required.
  • PA1, PA2, PA6 spraying certificates (preferred).
  • Chainsaw certification (desirable).

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Deputy Course Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the golf course, assisting in planning, supervising, and delivering all aspects of course maintenance. This position is ideal for an experienced greenkeeper looking to progress their career into a senior leadership role while contributing to the ongoing development of one of the Midlands’ finest courses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Course Manager in planning and delivering all course maintenance and improvement programmes.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate the greenkeeping team, ensuring safe and efficient working practices.
  • Take responsibility for the course in the absence of the Course Manager.
  • Assist with turf management programmes including fertiliser applications, spraying, aeration, irrigation scheduling, and disease management.
  • Operate and maintain machinery and equipment in line with club standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and contribute to training within the team.
  • Play an active role in preparing the course for daily play and club competitions.
