Deputy Director, ERP Systems
An instrumental role in achieving the University’s goals, such as enhancing education, research, and administration quality, improving staff/student experiences, and bolstering the university’s reputation and competitiveness. It involves providing leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise to ensure effective development, implementation, and maintenance of IT applications. By enhancing operational efficiency, supporting business objectives and ensuring the successful implementation of end-to-end IT solutions aligning to the IT strategy, the role enables the University to fulfill its mission and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage stakeholders across multiple domain areas - understand their needs, define and implement technology solutions and enhancements; and assist them in planning and managing budget for their digital transformation related spending.
  • Lead the team in planning & implementation of technology solutions, including overall design, development, integration, deployment, maintenance and support of multiple systems/platforms.
  • Oversee and coordinate with internal IT teams/external providers in ensuring that projects are delivered as planned; and all support or service request for the supported applications are dealt with in accordance with SLA.
  • Establish, monitor, and ensure team’s compliance with applicable regulations, policies, standards and procedures; and address any related audit requests or queries.
  • Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to the team so as to develop the required hard/soft skills in meeting the long-term business needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 20 years of IT experience which consist of:
  • 10 years of project management experience
  • 10 years of people management experience
  • 5 years of application/solution architecture experience; and
  • 3 years of cloud technology experience
  • Strong presence – ability to influence and inspire through verbal, written and presentation communications skills.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse range of users in non-technical terms, including senior stakeholders.
  • Good managerial, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and deliver results in a timely manner.
  • Tenacity to take on challenges and handle ambiguity; and manage diverse views and seek consensus through open discussion.
