ABOUT US:

Rockhampton Mental Health Service Inpatient Unit, Older persons Inpatient Unit, Acute Care Team, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Services and Child and Youth Mental Health Services are located on the campus of Rockhampton Hospital. The Rockhampton Mental Health Community Services Team, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services, Indigenous Mental Health Services, Prison and Forensic Mental Health Services and Court Liaison Services are located in the CBD of Rockhampton. The service maintains strong links with the specialised mental health services in southeast Queensland.

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Director of Clinical Services will assist the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) as a:

  • Leader: Connect and build trust with a shared vision and mission inspiring medical staff to optimise performance and maintain their engagement within the department.
  • Innovator: assist with the establishment, growth, and sustainability of the service.
  • Manager: assist by assertively driving service productivity using evidence-based decision making, focussed on achieving better outcomes.
  • Team-member: Be a consistently active contributor in a multidisciplinary patient care team maintaining a clear culture of accountability.

About you:To be successful in this role you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • It is a mandatory requirement for the incumbent to have qualifications and experience appropriate for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) is mandatory.
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies
  • Demonstrated competence and skills in psychiatry, able to manage a wide range of general adult psychiatric presentations including across sub-specialty areas in acute, sub-acute and continuing care, in both community and hospital settings, practicing evidence-based psychiatry and within a multi- disciplinary environment.

What we offer:Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $487,086 p.a. (L24) or $530,758 p.a. (L27) is comprised of:

  • A salary between:
  • $244,201 - 258,910 p.a. (L25 - L27)
  • $204,206 - $237,196 p.a. (L18 - L24)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
