We are seeking a Deputy Director of Midwifery to join our team at one of London’s leading Trusts, where our service is rated ’Outstanding’ by the CQC . This is an incredible opportunity to make a real impact, working alongside the General Manager, Clinical Director, and Divisional Director of Midwifery and Neonatology to lead transformational change and ensure the highest standards of care for women, birthing people, and families.

We are looking for an inspirational leader who is a Registered Midwife educated to Master’s level , with extensive senior NHS leadership experience . You must have a proven track record in leading large teams, delivering change, managing budgets, and driving service improvement . Strong communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire and lead multidisciplinary teams are essential.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring excellence in service delivery, workforce management, clinical quality, safety and financial control within the Directorate. You will contribute to shaping and implementing the Single Delivery Plan and demonstrate an understanding of maternity national policy.
The post-holder will work closely with the General Manager and Clinical Director (triumvirate) to provide leadership which creates an inclusive, positive working culture, setting high standards for the workforce and ensuring we not only provide a positive experience for the women we care for but also for our teams where everyone feels valued for what they contribute.
Your leadership will support a strong customer focus, drive change and deliver high performance. You will contribute to leading and managing the performance and productivity of Midwifery staff and associated financial resources, ensuring the optimal deployment of the midwives and support staff to deliver high quality patient care. This will require you to have the necessary knowledge and business skills to plan, implement and evaluate service delivery plans.
