Description
This position is being recruited by Pakistan Single Window (PSW) on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA). NAFSA is being established as a strategic national initiative to strengthen Pakistan’s agri-trade ecosystem through enhanced regulatory oversight, facilitation, and modernization of food safety and trade processes. The selected candidate will be part of NAFSA’s foundational team, contributing to the development of systems, processes, and institutional capabilities. Responsibilities: Manage pesticide product registration processes, including new registrations, amendments, renewals, and regulatory actions as notified. Implement scientific review of efficacy, toxicology, environmental fate, residues, and labelling data received from risk assessment and pesticide studies experts. Ensure product registration decisions are science-based and risk-informed, with appropriate documentation and rationale. Maintain national pesticide product registers, approval records, and decision histories with strong version control. Coordinate with risk assessment and pesticide studies functions to resolve data gaps and ensure completeness of dossiers. Prepare decision briefs, regulatory notices, and communication to applicants and stakeholders on product registration outcomes. Support post-registration reviews and regulatory updates based on surveillance, studies, or emerging risks. Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA's mandate. Education: M.Sc. (Hons.) / MPhil (minimum eighteen years of education) in Agriculture (Plant Protection/Entomology/Plant Pathology, Weed Science), Chemistry/Toxicology, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in pesticide product evaluation, regulatory review, risk assessment support, or related fields.
