Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Deputy Contractor Field Office (CFO) Manager is responsible to the CFO Manager for the oversite and strategic co-ordination of contractor services to enable Wing Operations. Accountable to the CMHP Sr. Program Manager, the role is specific to CMHP and includes, but is not limited to, the following scope of skills and duties:

  • Support and manage the Wing level service delivery and support issues as well as Sikorsky business objectives.
  • Promote a collaborative customer and supplier relationship.
  • Assist and provide leadership and oversight of the contractual facilities and service levels at 12 Wing locations Shearwater Nova Scotia and Patricia Bay British Columbia to support both garrison and deployed operations.
  • When requested by the CFO Manager, represent Sikorsky at 12 Wing meetings including support to the 12 Wing Commanding Officers.
  • When appropriate, engage Sikorsky Program Management to resolve service level issues arising from Sikorsky or supplier support.
  • Lead cost recovery efforts for customer induced damage.
  • Participate and/or lead continuous improvement activities in Contractor Field Office service and operations areas. Identify, facilitate, and promote aircraft availability and cost avoidance initiatives.
  • When requested, represent Sikorsky at 12 Wing Flight Safety meetings. Facilitate the Wing Flight Safety program investigations and initiatives through the Sikorsky Acceptable Technical Organization/Acceptable Design Organization Senior Design Engineers.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the customers’ technical airworthiness functions, authority and responsibilities and the inter-relationship between the customer and subcontractor standard operating procedures and policies.
  • To support program goals and objectives, possess the requisite skills, knowledge, and qualifications to meet the Directorate of Technical Airworthiness standards. The individual is to be the designated fleet Acting Senior Maintenance Manager, possessing no less than 6 years of relevant and progressively more responsible aerospace engineering and maintenance experience including at least 2 years as a senior maintenance manager of an aeronautical product and maintenance organization(s).
  • Understand and be conversant with In-Service Support Quality processes and participate in quality audits.
  • Possess demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills and proven ability in working within and managing complex programmatic, contractual, and technical issues in an aircraft maintenance setting.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
  • Be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program, U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Canadian Government Security Clearances

ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED FOR THE ROLE

  • Experience/background working with the Canadian military systems and processes.
  • This position will be direct interface with the CMHP Customer at multiple sites in Ottawa, Shearwater and Patricia Bay and must have strong leadership skills.
