Description

At the Manor House Hotel & Spa, we deliver exceptional stays, unforgettable celebrations, and first-class service. We’re currently undergoing a £1.3 million refurbishment, transforming our facilities to an even higher standard and creating an incredible environment for both our guests and our team. This is an exciting time to join us as we invest in our future.
We’re now seeking a talented Deputy General Manager to be second-in-command, supporting the General Manager in leading all aspects of our hotel operations. This is a varied and hands-on leadership role, with a particular focus on delivering outstanding weddings and events.
The Role As Deputy General Manager, you’ll ensure every guest — whether here for a weekend getaway, corporate meeting, or wedding celebration — enjoys a flawless experience. While your leadership will span the whole property, you will also take an active role in the sales and delivery of weddings, from hosting venue showarounds to overseeing the big day itself.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives on variety, enjoys guest engagement, and has the leadership skills to inspire a high-performing team — all within a hotel entering a brand-new chapter following significant investment.
Key Responsibilities
Hotel Operations
· Assist the General Manager in managing daily operations across F&B, Housekeeping, and Front Office.
· Lead departmental managers to maintain high service standards, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
· Monitor and manage hotel performance against financial targets.
· Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Weddings & Events
· Conduct engaging, personalised venue showarounds for prospective couples.
· Host detailed wedding appointments, tailoring proposals to couples’ needs and budgets.
· Collaborate with events, catering, and operational teams to deliver seamless celebrations.
· Maintain strong relationships with couples, from first enquiry to post-event follow-up.
· Oversee key wedding days as the senior on-site manager, ensuring smooth, timely execution.
Leadership & Strategy
· Inspire, train, and mentor staff at all levels.
· Contribute to business development initiatives, including new packages and upselling opportunities.
· Support budget preparation, forecasting, and performance reporting.
About You
· Proven leadership experience in a hotel or high-volume hospitality environment.
· Strong operational knowledge across multiple hotel departments.
· Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
· A passion for weddings and events, with a flair for delivering memorable guest experiences.
· Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
