Cambridge Country Club is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated Deputy Head Greenkeeper to assist our Head Greenkeeper in leading a hardworking team to push the golf course forward to enhance and futureproof the golf club for years to come. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head Greenkeeper and be significantly involved in the future strategy of the golf course, its development, plus the planning and organisation of work programmes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 4 years turf grass experience.
• Ability to organise routine golf course maintenance and golf course projects.
• Demonstrate the ability and experience to inspire, motivate and manage a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• An ambition to achieve personal development and experiences.
• High standards of golf course preparation and set up.
• A thorough understanding and knowledge of greenkeeping principles and practices.
• Knowledge in fertiliser, wetting agent and chemical applications.
• Competent in the use and maintenance of a wide variety of machinery.
• A positive and flexible approach to work.
• Fully competent in monitoring and maintaining health and safety in the workplace.
• A full driving licence.
• Previous team leader or management experience desirable, but not essential.
• Mechanical knowledge and chainsaw qualifications desirable, but not essential.
