MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • 8 + years of experience in a professional engineering setting (excluding internships)
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred
  • Highly developed CAD skills developed through design of parts and assemblies(Solid works preferred, Inventor, CATIA etc.), or
  • Highly developed analysis skills with at least one commercial FEA or Multiphysics simulation package (ANSYS preferred or NASTRAN, ABAQUS, CFD codes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ECSS (E-10/30/60), Mil and NASA standards (as appropriate)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of engineers
  • Demonstrated experience in developing propulsion systems
  • Ability to manage large assembly models and drawings
  • Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together.
  • Experience with Matlab, C++, Python and other modelling and analysis tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:

  • Support the Head of Propulsion Engineering in leading future propulsion programs, providing technical direction, resource management, and team leadership.
  • Oversee technical execution of propulsion development projects, ensuring alignment with program milestones, safety requirements, and system-level objectives.
  • Lead propulsion system architecture trade studies, system integration activities, and design reviews.
  • Manage, develop, and support a multidisciplinary propulsion engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Program Management to develop propulsion project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Represent the propulsion function in internal and external technical forums, customer meetings, and cross-functional working groups.
  • Support engine and subsystem test campaigns, anomaly resolution, and flight readiness activities.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging propulsion technologies and contribute to long-term propulsion technology roadmaps.
  • Support continuous improvement activities internal to Propulsion and in partnership with the wider team
  • Act as delegate to the Head of Propulsion Engineering as required.
