Location: Harrow
Salary: £45,000
About the Role
We are opening a brand-new children’s home in Harrow and are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Home Manager to help shape the service from the very beginning. This is a rare opportunity to be part of building a new home, setting the culture, and ensuring children and young people receive the highest quality of care from day one.
The successful candidate must meet Ofsted Schedule 2 requirements in order to be included on the home’s Ofsted registration application.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working closely with the Registered Manager to establish and lead a new residential service.
  • Supporting with the Ofsted registration process and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Leading and mentoring a team to deliver trauma-informed, therapeutic care.
  • Helping create a safe, nurturing, and family-style environment for children aged 11–25 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Supporting with staff recruitment, training, and development from the ground up.
  • Building strong partnerships with local authorities, schools, clinicians, and families to ensure positive outcomes for children.

About You

  • Must meet Ofsted Schedule 2 requirements for children’s homes.
  • Significant experience in residential childcare, ideally in a senior or deputy role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and risk assessment.
  • Emotional resilience and commitment to delivering high-quality care.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential); Level 5 Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards).
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to help shape a new team and service.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £45,000 per year.
  • The opportunity to be part of a brand-new home and help shape its foundations.
  • Ongoing training and clinical development in therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.
  • Clear progression opportunities, including support towards Registered Manager roles.
  • A supportive culture that values staff wellbeing as highly as children’s outcomes.
