REQUIREMENTS

  • To work on the floor as an RGN (variable shift pattern)
  • To manage the Home in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • To assist the Manager in the overall co-ordination and operation of the home
  • To ensure Hand Over Meetings are held with the Manager before and after any absence of either party
  • To meet with the Manager on a regular basis to discuss priorities, focus, issues or other work related items, to ensure relevant issues are communicated and dealt with.
  • To be part of the overall Management Team for the Home, liaising frequently with the Management team, attending Team and Staff Meetings, and relevant training as required.
  • To operate and be part of, a safe and efficient On Call System, ensuring the Home is supported 24 hours a day
  • To be aware of the different roles and responsibilities of individual staff and departments within the home
  • To correctly delegate tasks and workload to appropriate staff
  • To supervise and monitor Care Staff and Nurses
  • Ensure the co-ordination and maintenance of Care Records, Care Planning and associated documentation
  • To carry out pre-admission assessments for prospective residents, and liaise with Care Managers, Relatives, Commissioners, and other professionals regarding either private or funded placements
  • The correct and timely ordering and recording of medication and other medical supplies as needed
  • The correct storage, administration, record keeping, disposal and returns of medication and other medical supplies as required
  • To have knowledge in the use of all medical equipment within the Home and ensure usability checks are carried out on a regular basis
  • To observe practice, monitoring the care and nursing delivery to our residents, and assist Team Leaders and Registered Nurses with individual development and development of their care teams.
  • To oversee formal supervision and carry out clinical supervision with trained nurses on a quarterly basis
  • Assist in the correlation of falls and prepare a monthly audit across site for accidents
  • To oversee training and development, and liaise with the Home Administrator to ensure Training Matrix and Training Files are updated and accurate
  • To assist with Quality Assurance Monitoring and Auditing
  • To contribute to development plans for the home
  • To assist in Staff Recruitment as and when required
  • To assist in compiling appropriate Policies and Procedures for the Home as needed
  • To manage any complaints in the absence of the Manager
  • To assist in Staff Disciplinary matters when required
  • To build and maintain a high profile within the community and all associated bodies/businesses connected to Hestia Care
  • To act at all times within the Company’s best interests
  • To assist in ensuring staff cover is appropriate and the Rota is well maintained as required in the absence of the HR Co-Ordinator/Manager
  • To manage any allegations/suspicions of abuse appropriately and in line with the local inter agency safeguarding protocols
  • To notify statutory agencies of specific events as and when required by legislation
  • To undertake any other reasonable duty commensurate with the level of the post and scope of duties
