PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a senior care role within a dementia care setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of dementia and its impact on individuals and families
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and care regulations

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and proactive Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of our specialist dementia care home. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and dignity for our residents living with dementia, while also supporting and inspiring our dedicated care team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Home Manager in the overall management and leadership of the care home
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and all relevant legislation
  • Lead by example in delivering person-centred care tailored to the unique needs of residents with dementia
  • Supervise, mentor, and support care staff, including conducting appraisals and managing performance
  • Oversee medication administration and care planning processes
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents with professionalism and empathy
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for both residents and staff
  • Support recruitment, training, and development initiatives
  • Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence
