We’re currently looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role in a setting that truly supports and values its people.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Manager in the daily running of the setting.
• Step in as Acting Manager when needed
• Act as the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) for child safeguarding (training provided if needed)
• Lead, mentor, and support staff to maintain high standards in early years care and education
• Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations and internal policies
• Coordinate staff rotas and maintain staff-child ratios in conjunction with manager
• Oversee staff development, including appraisals and training plans
• Maintain strong communication with families and external agencies
• Use ChildPath to manage attendance, reports, and documentation
• Provide hands-on support in rooms as needed
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum QQI Level 6 qualification in Early Years Education (or higher)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a childcare or early years setting
• Proven leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of the Aistear curriculum and child protection procedures
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• A proactive, team-oriented approach
• Willingness to complete DLP training
• Work with Better Start preferable , but not essential
• Immediate availability preferred
