REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a supported living or residential children’s home environment is essential.
  • Background working with individuals with emotional and behavioural difficulties is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising teams within a healthcare setting.
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and that children are protected from harm
  • Knowledge of operations management principles related to child care facilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with financial acumen for budgeting purposes.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with residents, families, staff members and social workers.
  • A compassionate approach towards providing high-quality care for children from all different backgrounds.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that our children receive the highest standard of care in line with Ofsted regulations. You will be a role model to staff, promoting professional practice, safeguarding, and a child-centred culture across the home.

DUTIES

  • Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and resident care.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs, focusing on Children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Foster a positive environment that promotes resident engagement and well-being.
  • Manage budgets and financial resources effectively, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate medical services.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Maintain open communication with residents, families, and staff to address concerns and improve service delivery.
  • Ensure proper training for staff in areas such as long-term care practices, social work principles, and home & community care.
