REQUIREMENTS:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• 2+ yrs residential childcare experience.
• Supervisory/leadership experience.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge & trauma-informed practice.
• Flexible, resilient, able to lead by example.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Support the Registered Manager with daily operations and step in during absences. Lead the care team, uphold safeguarding, ensure compliance with Ofsted & Regulations, and maintain a therapeutic, child-centred environment.

KEY DUTIES:

• Childcare: Oversee care plans, safeguarding, education, health & independence. Apply therapeutic approaches (PACE), work with families/professionals, manage risk & behaviour plans.
• Staff Leadership: Supervise & coach staff, support recruitment, induction & training, rota planning, on-call duties.
• Compliance: Keep records compliant with Reg 44/45, audits, inspection readiness.
• Home Ops: Ensure safe, welcoming home, H&S checks, petty cash, rota & household routines.
