    Are you experienced in children’s residential care? Ready to step into a leadership role and help run a warm, safe home for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties? Join Edison Young People as a Deputy Manager and support our Registered Manager to deliver outstanding care.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the home in the Registered Manager’s absence, including on-call duties
  • Support day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and admin tasks
  • Ensure every child has a tailored Care Plan involving them and their family/advocate
  • Work closely with social workers and staff to develop and review Care Plans
  • Manage staff rotas, assist with recruitment, training, and performance reviews
  • Lead team meetings and share updates with the team
  • Report accidents, incidents, and safeguarding concerns following Ofsted regulations
  • Support children’s education, social activities, and healthy lifestyles
  • Help prepare nutritious meals and maintain a clean, homely environment
  • Transport children to appointments, school, and leisure activities
  • Keep up with health & safety, fire safety, and company policies
  • Write reports and contribute to the home’s quality standards

What you’ll need:

  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including 1 year in a supervisory or deputy role
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of care regulations
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, lead shifts confidently, and stay calm under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
  • Caring, approachable, and team-focused attitude
