Job Purpose: The Mechanical Drive Train Engineer is responsible for executing the design, testing, and validation of mechanical components within the drive train system, such as main shafts, bearings, and couplings. Utilizing CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX) and basic FEA techniques, the Engineer ensures that designs meet structural, thermal, and fatigue requirements. This role supports testing activities, collects and analyzes performance data, and provides hands-on assistance during component assembly and site troubleshooting. The Engineer also participates in root cause analysis of component failures, material selection, and compliance checks against industry standards. By contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, the Mechanical Drive Train Engineer helps optimize designs and manufacturing processes, enhancing the overall reliability and performance of wind turbine systems.
