DEPUTY NURSERY MANAGER – JOIN OUR COSY & CARING TEAM

Location: Croydon CR0 | 4-Day Week | Birthday Off | 48 Weeks per Year
Are you an experienced Early Years practitioner looking for a meaningful leadership role? Do you thrive in a calm, nurturing environment where children’s wellbeing and development come first?
We are a small, family-feel nursery in Croydon seeking a Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team of 9. You’ll lead our baby room with warmth and confidence, while also supporting the Nursery Manager with daily operations and stepping into management when they are away.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about quality childcare and enjoys a close-knit, supportive working environment.
Working Pattern: 4 Days per Week (Set Shifts) 33.5 hours a week

Week 1:

  • Monday: 7:45am – 6:00pm
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 7:45am – 4:45pm
  • Friday: Off

Week 2:

  • Monday: Off
  • Tuesday to Thursday 9am to 6pm
  • Friday 7.45am to 4.45pm

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Level 3 in Early Years Education
  • Previous experience in a room leader or senior practitioner role
  • Good understanding of EYFS and safeguarding procedures
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Positive, calm, and organised approach to work

  • Lead the baby room, supporting learning and development through child-led, nurturing practice
  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff support
  • Step up as acting manager during holidays and absences
  • Ensure safeguarding and EYFS standards are consistently upheld
  • Maintain a high standard of care and communication with parents and colleagues
  • Be flexible and willing to help across the nursery when needed
