QUALIFICATIONS

  • Level 4 Counselling qualification or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care – essential.
  • Management or leadership qualification – desirable.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a substance misuse or addiction recovery setting – essential.
  • Experience supervising or leading a team – desirable.
  • Experience working within a residential or supported housing environment – desirable.
  • Experience of dealing with safeguarding issues and risk management – desirable.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

To support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the residential rehabilitation service, ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. The Deputy Manager will help oversee the delivery of high-quality care, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and support the staff team in maintaining a therapeutic community.

JOB DESCRIPTION – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the service.
  • Supervise and support staff to ensure effective delivery of care and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the implementation of care plans and risk assessments in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns.
  • Support the delivery of a structured daily programme including group sessions, workshops, and recovery activities.
  • Monitor health and safety across the service and ensure compliance with CQC regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards.
  • Manage and oversee the staff rota to ensure adequate staffing levels across all shifts.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping in line with GDPR and clinical governance frameworks.
  • Act as a positive role model for staff and clients, promoting recovery values and professional standards.
  • Liaise with external agencies, family members, and stakeholders as appropriate.
