OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team for maternity cover (9 months). The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a background in childcare and early childhood education. This role is vital in supporting the overall operations of our facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children while promoting effective communication with parents and staff.
Hours: 28.75 ( Between 7.45am and 6.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting.
  • At least a Level 3 qualification in child care and/or Play work.
  • Experience working with children, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to drive and hold a valid driving licence is preferred.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff management, deputising in their absence.
  • Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere for children, staff, and parents.
  • Supervise and support staff in their roles, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including daily risk assessments, ensuring a secure environment for all children.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children’s progress and any concerns.
  • To order and maintain equipment and resources in absence of Manager within agreed budgets.
  • Planning of safe and appropriate play opportunities for children aged between 3 and 11 years.
  • Liaising with administrators to ensure accurate record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Co-ordinating the collection of children from schools and their safe delivery to parents or named carers.
  • Assisting the preparation and serving of refreshments for the children.
