OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Cedar House facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Children’s home, ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care and support. This position requires strong leadership skills and a passion for enhancing the lives of children and young persons, particularly those with emotional behavioural disorders and ASD spectrum. To take full responsibility for the management of the Home in the absence of the Registered Manager and to provide the highest quality of care and support to Children and Young People in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body

STAFF

  • Work with the Manager to ensure that appropriately qualified and experienced staff are recruited in accordance with Company policy and standards set by the Regulatory Body
  • Work with the Manager to ensure that staffing meets the standards and levels as set out in the Home’s Statement of Purpose
  • Ensure that all staff complete a full induction in accordance with Company policy and standards set by the Regulatory Body.
  • Support the Manager to effectively apply the probation process and contribute to decisions regarding ongoing employment of staff.

    Assist in planning and updating of qualifications and contributes to personal development of self and others in line with personal and organisational objectives. Provide regular supervision and annual appraisals in accordance with company policies and standards set by the Regulatory Body.

  • Conduct Return to Work meetings for direct reports support with the management of sickness and absenteeism in accordance with Company policy.

  • Ensure regular team meetings in line with Company policy and standards set by the Regulatory Body.
  • Delegate responsibilities based on competence of staff and needs of the Company and review in order to promote teamwork and communication.
  • Ensure and/or undertake verbal debriefs with staff as required and necessary and ensure relevant paperwork is completed.
  • Identify training needs of staff and contribute to the training and development of staff.
  • Ensure that staff exhibit the values set out by the Company and uphold standards of behaviour in accordance with Company policies. Quality
  • To ensure that appropriate standards are maintained, especially in relation to care, educational and clinical programmes (service dependent) for the Children and Young People in their care, in accordance with company policies. Specific areas include: o The Homes Statement of Purpose Job description o Safeguarding Individuals o Health & Safety – environmental health, food, fire, risk assessments o Complaints and representation o General Social Care Council Codes of Practice o Care Quality Commission (registration) regulations/ Care Standards o Equality General
  • Ensure awareness that the service operates to agreed budgets and contribute to keeping within these budgets as instructed.
  • Exercise vigilance in respect of Health and Safety and promptly report all hazards and/or remedying them where appropriate. Undertake all duties in a manner calculated to minimise or avoid unnecessary risks, personally or to others.
  • Reports issues and/or incidents relating to staff, Children and Young People that have arisen promptly to the relevant Line Manager or appropriate person.
  • To carry out on-call duties as required.
  • Operate at all times in accordance with Company policies and procedures, with particular reference to Safeguarding, Child Protection, Whistleblowing, Complaints and Representations and Behaviour Policies.
  • Participate in training and take responsibility for personal development.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervisions and annual reviews in accordance with Company policy and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
  • Work to promote the Home as a valued, professional asset within its community and conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reinforces this image.
  • Ensure that all actions are in the interests of the Children, Young People and the Company.
  • To work to and exhibit the values of the Company and maintain standards of behaviour in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices
