Description

We need to recruit experienced full- time NURSERY DEPUTY MANAGER as we are growing fast! This role does not require a childcare qualification as the role is of an operational/administrative function but if you have a childcare qualification that would be helpful.

WHAT ARE THE JOB REQUIREMENTS?

  1. To support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting.
  2. Manage the setting with the Room Lead Practitioners in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
  3. To oversee the administration required to run the kitchen/dining room (Safer food, better business) and ensure the Cook can meet her targets.
  4. To create, update and adhere to all policies and procedures for the setting.
  5. To supervise Apprentices on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  6. To organise and monitor training events and meetings as identified by the Nursery Manager for all staff.
  7. To supervise, care for and protect the children from dangerous or harmful situations and enhance their general health, wellbeing and development by ensuring all Risk assessments are current
  8. to be nursery safeguarding Lead
  9. To create staff rotas on a monthly basis ensuring the setting operates to the correct staff ratios
  10. To manage child attendance and child session requirements for potential, new and existing children on a daily weekly and monthly basis to ensure staffing requirements are met and invoicing is correct. This includes from initial parent enquiry through to child starting nursery.
  11. To manage the funded hours portal for Staffordshire County Council to ensure appropriate funding is received and spent accordingly
  12. To keep accurate and up-to-date records of the children and setting, including records of progress and any behavioural and developmental reports and ensure filed digitally or hard copy in the office for staff needs
  13. To ensure all new and existing staff have compliant staff HR files and their qualifications and training remain current
  14. To liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support children within the setting as appropriate.
  15. To liaise with parents/carers about their children’s needs, interests and progress through regular reports, meetings and communications both personally and via the Room Lead Practitioners
  16. To ensure the Nursery has appropriate PPE, cleaning materials to operate safely
  17. To undertake any other duties as deemed necessary by the Setting Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Good IT skills and be proficient with Microsoft packages - particularly excel
  • Good with numbers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An outgoing, confident, positive person
