Responsibilities

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE JOB?

The role of the Deputy Manager is to assist the Nursery Manager in providing professional leadership and day-to-day management of the nursery when required . To provide a safe and secure environment where each child is respected as an individual and is encouraged to grow in confidence and independence. Maintain professional at all times and uphold and role model the Green Giraffe Nursery Gentle loving care ethos and Montessori Etiquette.
The Deputy Manager will undertake the overall day-to-day management of the nursery when the nursery manager is not present and well as supporting the staff in the playrooms.

KEY TASKS:

  • Assist the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day management of the nursery.
  • Deputy designated safeguarding lead.
  • To make positive contributions and suggestions that will assist the overall development of the nursery.
  • Support the Nursery Manager during inspections by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and assist in the implementation of any recommendations.
  • Ensure that the nursery is operating effectively
  • Through reflective observations, support, monitor and recommend improvements for quality assurance in all working areas.
